A Message from Marylyn

Rocky Hollow Ranch Nova Scotia (RHRNS) provides a holistic experience when it comes to pairing horses and people. We build friendships, have fun and develop community spirit while emphasizing safety at the ranch, personal accountability, responsibility, respect and compassion for horses and one another. We foster and encourage personal growth for every individual through their active participation in all aspects of our program.

Summer Day Camp, 2022

Dates: July 11-15, July 25-29

Ages: 7 to 16 years old

Days filled with fresh air, farm critters, horseback riding, trail riding, arts’n’crafts, lounging, and more. A no-tech environment is provided. See details below. (PHOTOS taken before COVID)

Participants get to spend the day mostly outdoors at the ranch, learn about barns, visit with the animals and socialize with others.

Start time is 9 am and ends at 4 pm.

NOTE: Early drop-off and late pick-up is available. Fees apply. Please speak with Marylyn.

What to expect

On any given PD-Day, campers can expect some or all of the following:

outdoor activities e.g. games, hikes, bonfires, and hanging with the barn animals
stable/barn chores
grooming/brushing horses
tacking and untacking horses
walking, riding, and cooling off horses
crafts, games, and baking when the weather prevents outdoor activity
time to kick back and lounge a little
lots of laughs, jokes, fun, and pure happiness.

What to bring

Participants need to bring a good lunch, a couple of healthy snacks, a water bottle and/or other drink(s). Please dress for the changing Nova Scotia weather!

What NOT to bring

The ranch experience is much better without a smartphone pinging all day long. We offer a tech-free environment. Riders are asked to leave their phones at home. A cell phone is available if participants need to call home.
